Here's The Scoop
Richard: August 10, 2007
The following is an excerpt of an email we sent in response to a blogger who asked us the following:
“Ever since I moved here full time, the people I've met and socialized with all seem to feel they are living in a paradise. So what’s the scoop???”
We, at LOVE, also think that the Oro Valley has great weather, terrific views of the Catalinas, super golf, proximity to a major University, good hiking, swimming, low crime, decent schools. And, at one time, it was a very affordable community. A “paradise” of sorts.
Here’s the scoop: Oro Valley is far from being a paradise when it comes to governance. The decisions that town council, mayor and management make, decisions that are slowly eroding our “paradise” into just another costly place to live.
And we don’t like it.
But, rather than sit around and gripe about it, we’re going to do something about it.
The only long-term solution is to find and elect candidates for Town Council who will put our “paradise” first, our citizens first. People who will make trustworthy decisions that we don’t have to challenge every time.
The elections for Town Council are coming next March. We have identified two such candidates: Salette Latas and Bill Garner. We plan to identify more.
As a minimum, make sure that you are informed. Listen to our weekly blogcast. Read the blog. Read a description of the issues. Send us your thinking. Join the conversation. Let your neighbors know that Oro Valley, our “paradise”, needs protection and that you are going to be one its protectors.

From time to time, we receive comments from bloggers that are worth posting in their entirety. Unfortunately, we can't always do this directly on the blog. So we are posting them here.
